Last year, around 11:30 pm on November 9, 2023, my sneaker got caught in the ride vehicle of Space Mountain and I went flying face first into a metal hand rail. I broke my nose in two places and fell on the floor. I don’t have memories of the accident.
This changed my life. It took 11 months to find out the extent of the damage to my brain. I was diagnosed with a mild cognitive disorder due to a traumatic brain injury. I also had an abnormal finding on my EEG. I still don’t know the results of that EEG.
I haven’t been able to return to my magical job and this caused me to lose the job I loved in June. In August, long term disability abruptly closed my case and I’ve been fighting to get it back since. In the meantime, my family has been working hard to make sure we have all the basic needs and it’s been tough. Many of you have been following my path to healing this past year. It has been so hard to watch my Husband struggle to carry the weight for both of us.
It has been really hard to get through this season of life. As of this moment, we are still fighting for this to be approved. Please join our family in prayer to get it overturned.
We don’t have enough money to pay our mortgage and we have a lot of bills that simply can’t get paid on time. If you are wondering why I can’t return to work at this time, the Doctor’s have not cleared me to be able to return to work. My brain injury is still in the process of being healed. The only thing I can do right now is trust in God to get us through this month.
